“Is there a pill I can take to make someone fall in love with me?” I asked. I was only half-joking
“Alas no,” said Dr Poorelli. “Although we can investigate the chemical basis of emotions, we’re a long way from manipulating them.” He smiled. “I guess we shouldn’t. Where would be the fun in that?”
“I think you’re right, Doctor. Loneliness can’t be cured with a pill.”

When someone tapped me on the shoulder, I nearly jumped out of my skin. That man, Greensleeves, had snuck up behind me.
“What?” I kinda snarled at him.
“You’re speaking aloud, it’s putting me off the enjoyment of the exhibit.”
This time it was my turn to blush. Had he heard what I’d said? And quiet conversation bothered him, he should have activated his noise filters.
