First officer, Mikar, wakes with a headache after drinking too much wine the night before. She’d turned to the bottle after failing to find a cure for her infected clone sisters.

But clones are disposable, and the Captain was quick to issue a terrible order.

Afterwards, the Captain and Mikar, who is the first clone of the Captain, venture onto the surface of the planet to explore and to find a way to release their ship from a mass of trapping tentacles.

They meet Grey Cut, the alien who attacked the crew. Grey Cut asks for Company technology in exchange for releasing the ship.
